ASHLAND — Planning Board approves Eversource hazardous tree removals on scenic roads with conditions. Chair Tricia Kendall and members Deepa Venkat, Anna Tesmenitsky, Scott Pelletier, and Paul Montesino (remote) voted unanimously to permit removal of 46 dead trees from Howe and Cross streets, conditioned on planting 19 new trees by end of 2028 in consultation with Conservation Agent Becca Solomon and the town Forestry Plan. Eversource data showed 52 power outages since May 2024 in the area, with 42 tree-related and 22 on Howe Street alone.
Two major development projects, the 30 Memorial Drive YMCA and 55 Tilton Avenue mixed-use building, were continued to March 26 pending peer-review revisions and design clarification.
