Town Forest Committee approves $250 for UTV repair shop services.

ASHLAND — The Ashland Town Forest Committee held an emergency meeting to address battery failure of the committee's utility terrain vehicle. Co-Chair Rob St. Germain reported being stranded in the forest during a test run after the UTV battery died; the Department of Public Works towed the vehicle to its facility on Ponderosa Road.
The committee unanimously approved a $250 contract with Higgins Powersports in Barre for battery inspection, pickup, and delivery. Co-Chair Mike Jones and member Brian Forestal were assigned to inspect the vehicle one final time on February 27 before the dealership retrieves it within a week.
