Planning Board approves lot consolidation; continues four hearings and bylaw work.

Ashland Planning Board approves 21 Olive Street lot consolidation and advances housing policy work. Chair Tricia Kendall, with four members present, voted 4-0 to approve an ANR plan consolidating three lots into one for applicant Ed Rose. Kendall disclosed a conflict of interest as a former neighbor but participated in the vote.
The Board heard a presentation from JM Goldson consultant Flavio Vila on the draft Housing Production Plan, now expiring May 23, 2026; three ongoing 40B projects would add 592 subsidized units and lift Ashland's Subsidized Housing Inventory from 5.8 percent to 12.7 percent against the state 10 percent benchmark. Four pending public hearings, including the YMCA project at 30 Memorial Drive and the in-law apartments bylaw amendment, were continued to January 22 or February 12.
