Planning Board advances housing production plan, continues tree removals to March

ASHLAND — Planning Board approves Implementation Committee process, advances housing plan. The board, sitting jointly with the Select Board, voted 10-0 to approve a process to establish a seven-to-nine member Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee, with member and candidate names due to both boards by April 1. Jenn Goldson presented the draft Housing Production Plan's five five-year goals and strategy roadmap; Director Jasmin Farinacci confirmed that wetland sites flagged for development will be removed from the plan.
The board voted 5-0 to approve Eversource's annual scenic roads tree maintenance on six roads but voted 5-0 to continue the utility's proposed removal of 46 hazardous trees on Cross Street and Howe Street to March 12, pending a board site walk; Conservation Agent Becca Solomon affirmed 81 percent of recent circuit outages were tree-related.
