Ashland Planning Board Clears Way for New Seasonal Cabin at Town Beach

Planning Board · Meeting of April 2, 2026

Ashland Planning Board approves campground cabin waiver and cottage granola business, advances master plan survey. The board voted Thursday to waive site plan review for a single seasonal camping cabin of 400 square feet or less at the town beach campground's Site 1, contingent on fire, police, safety, and building code compliance; board member Anna Tesmenitsky recused herself because the Ashland Area Recreation Association, which she leads as president, is donating up to $10,000 to fund the structure. The board also unanimously approved a home occupation application for TF Confessions LLC, a granola cottage business to be operated out of a small section of a resident's home kitchen and sold at farmers markets and retail outlets, subject to fire and life safety inspection.

On the master plan front, the board reviewed a draft ten-question community survey slated for distribution via Survey Monkey, QR codes, and town social media channels, with finalization targeted for the April 16 meeting. Linda Barnes reported from a Lakes Region Planning Commission session on land reclamation grant funding and recommended forwarding the materials to the Select Board for review.
