Zoning Board · Meeting of June 9, 2026

ASHLAND — The Ashland Zoning Board of Appeals continued three pending hearings to June 23 after a procedural deadline lapse and unresolved design questions. The board voted 5-0 to extend the closing deadline on a 116-unit Chapter 40B project at 55 West Union Street, which includes 29 units income-restricted for households at or below 80 percent of area median income. On a special permit for a farmer's porch at 76 Roberts Road, members voted 4-0 to close public comment, with Associate Member Ryan Sullivan recused; representative Kevin Keiler said the porch would add 3.7 feet of setback encroachment.

At 167-169 Pleasant Street, applicant James MacDonald agreed to add five-foot front porches after resident Aaron Ladd said it would preserve "the historical nature of Pleasant Street," and the board voted 6-0 to continue that hearing pending revised driveway and demolition paperwork.
