ASHLAND — Select Board hosts budget forum on two fiscal 2027 scenarios. Budget Director Mr. Herbert and Mr.
Adams presented a 6.18 percent operational override option and a 3.25 percent no-override option, each eliminating 13.2 FTE positions; 10.2 through natural attrition and 3.0 through programmatic cuts. Chair Ms. Kinsman fielded 19 pre-submitted community questions and opened the floor to live discussion, noting that salaries and benefits comprise 79 percent of expenditures and that the Proposition 2 1/2 revenue cap no longer keeps pace with actual expenses.
Town Meeting is scheduled for May 6.
