Select Board approves $2.75M operational override for FY27 budget.
Select Board · Meeting of April 29, 2026
Ashland Select Board unanimously accepts $2.75 million operational override for FY27 budget. The override, to be voted at May 6 Town Meeting with a May 19 ballot, addresses cost pressures in health benefits and the Keefe Tech assessment while funding schools, police, and fire services. Town Manager Michael Herbert warned that override failure could damage the town's bond rating; the non-override alternative would transfer $1.4 million from the Stabilization Fund (currently at $8.1 million) to schools.
The Board also unanimously approved a liquor license transfer to Hanuman Dada Corp. at 197 Main Street and cleared a $1,835 traffic box public art project by the Ashland Cultural Council.
