Ashland Library Cancels Dementia Simulation Event, Hosts Public Safety Night
DATELINE — ASHLAND — Ashland Public Library called off its "A Walk In Their Shoes: Dementia Simulation" program, planned in partnership with The Residence at Valley, even as the library keeps a full slate of events running today, including Public Safety Night and its ongoing Adult Summer Reading Challenge.

The Select Board packs three sessions into one night this week: a budget workshop, an executive session, and a hybrid regular meeting, all Wednesday, Aug. 5. The Council on Aging meets Thursday, Aug. 6.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The library's in-person "A Walk In Their Shoes: Dementia Simulation," a partnership with The Residence at Valley, has been canceled, the library's calendar shows. The rest of today's library slate goes on as planned: Public Safety Night, Clocktown Rockers for ages 2 to 5 with a caregiver, LEGO Club for grades K through 3, and the Front Street Readers Book Club, which meets in person to discuss "Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President." The library's online Adult Summer Reading Challenge continues through Wednesday.

Baby Time for ages 0 to 3 with a caregiver runs Wednesday, Aug. 5, the same day the Select Board holds its budget workshop, executive session, and hybrid regular meeting. The Conservation Commission meets by Zoom Monday, Aug. 10; the Zoning Board of Appeals meets Tuesday, Aug. 11; and the Planning Board meets Thursday, Aug. 13.
