Planning Board · Meeting of June 25, 2026

ASHLAND — The Ashland Planning Board approved a Scenic Road Special Permit letting the Ashland Historical Society move a ten-foot stone wall section on Water Street to create a driveway at 2 Myrtle Street. The board voted 4-0 on the permit after member Patricia Kendall noted the wall was "barely in the criteria" for scenic road protection, and member Scott Pelletier said "we should be able to go ahead and approve this." The board also voted 4-0 to approve amended bond language for the 9-49 Homer Avenue project, after Director of Planning and Economic Development Jasmin Farinacci said an insurer could not issue the required $100,000 surety bond under the existing decision's vague terms. The vote was conditioned on Town Counsel Lisa Mead confirming the new language by email.

Farinacci said the delay has already cost the developer two weeks, since construction cannot begin until the bond is posted.
