Ashland Planning Board pushes bank and housing hearings to August 13. The board voted 4-0 to continue a site plan and design review hearing for Middlesex Savings Bank's renovation at 2 West Union Street, after member Scott Pelletier questioned a temporary construction trailer's placement and Tricia Kendall said a proposed fence "looks like somewhat of a little jail cell." Adam Fandry of Middlesex Savings Bank said the roughly 40-week project would add under 400 square feet and expand the branch's private offices from one to three over a 30-week construction period. The board also voted 5-0 to continue a special permit and site plan hearing for a 14-unit mixed-use building at 55 Tilton Avenue while the applicant, Tilton Sunrise LLC, works with the Conservation Commission on stormwater issues.
Director of Planning Jasmin Farinacci said Town Counsel Lisa Mead recommended handling data center zoning through the town's use table rather than a temporary moratorium.
