Ashland Launches New Online Permitting Portal, OpenGov

ASHLAND — Ashland has rolled out a new online licensing and permitting system called OpenGov, giving residents and business owners a way to apply for and track town permits without an in-person trip to Town Hall.

The Town Hall's official News Flash currently highlights the launch of OpenGov, a new License/Permitting Portal designed to move applications and approvals online. Town officials are encouraging residents to check the new system for permitting needs, and the Town Manager's office continues to offer sign-ups for its weekly e-newsletter with town information and events.

The Ashland Public Library has a family event on tap for Saturday, July 25: "Meet Gilbert the Party Pig," a program aimed at younger patrons and their families. The library's online Adult Summer Reading Challenge also continues to run this weekend for grown-up patrons looking to log their reading.

Several town boards meet Monday, July 27, including the School Committee, which holds its summer retreat that day, along with the Housing Authority and a Zoom session of the Conservation Commission. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets virtually Tuesday, July 28.

At the library, Monday, July 27 brings a Knit and Crochet Club session in person and a Take & Make Kits pickup for families running through Tuesday, July 28. That evening, the library hosts a virtual talk as part of its Celebrating America's 250th series: "The Escapes of David George," featuring author Gregory E. O'Malley.
