Trail committee advances 25% design phase for first mile segment

ASHLAND — Upper Charles River Trail Committee approves engineering consultant to complete 25 percent design. Rob Scherer, chair, along with committee members David Rosenblum, Tony Lewis, Tim Henderson, Judy Rosenthal, Marty Ring, and Doug Costello reviewed plans with guests Yolanda Greaves and Diane Mortensen to hire Fuss & O'Neil at approximately $1 million per one-mile segment. The Dike Trail to Ashland Public Safety building is the first phase, with full trail design targeted by end of 2026.

Scherer reported coordination with Framingham and Hopkinton on regional connections and agreed to schedule a mapping session to discuss Hopkinton's proposed southern route.
