ASHLAND — The Ashland Sustainability Committee is mapping a five-year Net Zero plan targeting the town's 2040 warrant goal. Chair Todd Ching and members Cara Camerato-Hulme, Ashwin Ratanchandani, and Amanda Flies identified priority areas for reduction including municipal energy and buildings, transportation, nature-based solutions, and climate resiliency. The committee assigned research tasks including comparing Ashland's emissions metrics against peer towns such as Hopkinton, Natick, and Holliston, and reviewing the most impactful carbon-reduction methods.
Members also discussed new projects including a potential electric landscaping equipment bylaw and a composting program through the Department of Public Works.
