Ashland Planning Board continues Middlesex Savings Bank renovation hearing. The bank, operating at 2 West Union Street for 40 years, is seeking approval for a 400-square-foot expansion adding two offices, new landscaping, and a modernized exterior with a new roofline; construction would take 30 weeks with in-person banking continuing from a temporary trailer. Board members raised safety concerns about the temporary location and requested more decorative fencing for the employee patio; the bank agreed to address both.
The board also continued a hearing on a proposed three-story mixed-use building at 55 Tilton Avenue with 14 apartments and contractor bays, pending stormwater coordination with Conservation. Both hearings resume August 13.
