Library To Screen 'Chicken Run' At Friday Outdoor Flicknic

Ashland Public Library will host a free outdoor Flicknic screening of the animated film "Chicken Run" Friday evening, the centerpiece of a five-event slate that also brings a presidential lecture series, a mystery book club and a virtual film discussion to town over the next two days.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Friday's library calendar is packed: the Flicknic family movie night pairs with a virtual Presidential Series talk from doodler Heather Rogers on Martin Van Buren, an in-person Mystery Book Club discussion of Donna Leon's "By Its Cover" for adults, an in-person Mindful Meditation session for adults, and a virtual Friday Night Film Discussion of "Driving Madeleine."

Saturday brings Saturday Stories, the library's storytime for families with young children, though a planned "Name That Tune: Songs of Revolution" trivia program has been canceled, according to the library's calendar. Saturday and Sunday also mark the last chance for children to collect Dragon Cards under the library's summer reading program before it closes out.
