Historical Commission updates burial ground survey, charts historic district plan

ASHLAND — The Ashland Historical Commission approved prior meeting minutes and discussed ongoing projects including the Village Burial Ground, which will undergo ground-penetrating radar surveying in July or August after landscape preparation. Helen Nickole reported coordination with Bridgewater State University and noted the restoration team is ready for headstone work and future kiosk installation with searchable burial records. Jim Neilsen reported that the Local Historic District initiative is being developed as a warrant article for the fall town meeting.

The commission addressed preservation questions around the Burnham's and Mill Buildings properties.
