Ashland Council on Aging approves director's report amid budget pressures. Director Candi Wilson reported that a budget presented to town leadership on February 2 faces potential impacts from level funding or a 5 percent reduction, potentially reducing programs, services, and building hours. The council unanimously approved the report.
The council also noted complaints about a change to the senior birthday celebration program that now requires a $15 annual "Friend" membership to receive a free lunch and scratch ticket. In January, the council served 1,568 seniors through 139 volunteers coordinating 1,120 events, 20 rides, and 288 services.
