Council on Aging approves director report and spring schedule

ASHLAND — Council on Aging approves director's report and endorses four spring events ranging from a blood drive to an Alzheimer's partnership. Director Candi Wilson briefed the board on program updates, reporting that SNAP benefits have decreased but residents continue receiving Fuel Assistance funding through SMOC. The council approved Mary Cella as the new trip coordinator for the Friends and scheduled upcoming events: an American Red Cross Blood Drive on March 17, a Jimmy Buffet Party in Paradise on September evenings, and a Metrowest Alzheimer's Partnership Event on April 28.

The board also discussed a proposed farmers market booth, the 2026 Community Hero Award, and updated meeting participation policies.
