Select Board · Meeting of July 15, 2026

ASHLAND — The Ashland Select Board pressed the Conservation Commission's case against Agilitas Energy over a disputed open-space parcel at 0 Cross Street. Conservation Commission Vice Chair Carl Hackinson said Agilitas created a residential lot on nearly two acres of Ashland land without notifying the town, despite a 2020 special permit requiring the land be preserved as open space and donated to the Hopkinton Area Land Trust. Agilitas's letter asserts its "contractual rights and obligations" to proceed with the sale.

Board member Joseph J. Magnani, Jr. said he had sought legal guidance "for like two months" without a clear answer. The board also heard that a $2 million Keefe Tech feasibility study will weigh four building options for a district with 875 students and a 300-student waiting list, and discussed, without voting, a $50-to-$100 fee for reactivating long-expired building permits.

No vote was taken on the Cross Street matter, which returns to the board's August 5 meeting.
