Ashland Sets Five Town Board Meetings for Week Ahead
Ashland's town boards have a packed stretch ahead, with the Conservation Commission, Roadway Traffic Study Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals, Historical Commission and Planning Board all scheduled to meet between Monday and Thursday. The lineup comes as Ashland Public Schools confirmed a fall start date and the town library rolled out a full slate of weekend programming.
SCHOOLS
Ashland Public Schools has set Aug. 31 as the first day of classes at David Mindess Elementary, with a morning orientation session for incoming preschoolers scheduled the same day, according to the district's online calendar.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Ashland Public Library has a full slate of programming this weekend and into next week. Saturday Stories for families with young children and a VEX IQ Robotics session for grades two through six are both set for Saturday, Aug. 8, alongside the library's Online Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026, listed running in overlapping sessions through Tuesday, Aug. 11. On Monday, Aug. 10, the library adds Take & Make Kits for families and two Teacher Tales sessions: one with fourth-grade teacher Ms. DiModica and another with kindergarten teacher Ms. Forrest.
