Ashland Rolls Out New OpenGov Permitting Portal

Ashland officials have rolled out OpenGov, a new online license and permitting portal designed to let residents and businesses handle municipal filings without an in-person visit to Town Hall.

TOWN HALL

The Town of Ashland announced the launch of OpenGov, a new License/Permitting Portal intended to streamline how residents and businesses apply for and manage municipal licenses and permits online, according to a News Flash posted on the town's official website. The town did not specify a full rollout timeline in the announcement, but encouraged residents to visit the town website to learn more about how the new system works.

The town also continues to promote its Town Manager's weekly e-Newsletter, which delivers municipal updates and event information directly to residents' inboxes, and it has flagged the ongoing Comprehensive Plan Committee as a body actively soliciting community email input on long-range planning.

The Ashland Public Library has a full slate of events closing out the week. On Friday, July 31, the library will host an in-person Mindful Meditation session for adults, a Paw Patrol Party for families, a Flicknic screening of "How to Train Your Dragon" (2025) for families, and a virtual talk on the life and career of Mel Brooks.

The library's Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026 also continues online through Saturday, August 1, giving adult patrons an ongoing opportunity to log books and participate remotely.
