Ashland Library Announces Robotics, Movie and Ice Cream Events This Week

ASHLAND — Ashland Public Library has packed five programs for children, families and adults into a three-day stretch beginning Friday, July 17, according to the library's event calendar, offering residents a full slate of free options heading into the weekend.

The library opens the run Friday with an adults-only Mindful Meditation session and a virtual lecture, "The Hollywood Blockbuster — How Steven Spielberg & George Lucas Changed the Movies," alongside a family-oriented Flicknic screening of "GOAT." An online Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026 runs Friday through Monday for participants who want to log books from home.

Saturday brings two more in-person programs: an Elephant & Piggie-themed ice cream party for families, and a VEX IQ Robotics session for students in grades two through six. The library's Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet July 21, though that falls outside the coming week's event window.
