Ashland Doctor Loses License Over Capitol Riot Role

DATELINE — ASHLAND

An Ashland physician has lost her right to renew her medical license over her involvement in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots, according to a Milford Daily News report, while the Ashland Public Library moves into a busy stretch of author events and family programming this week.

The Ashland Public Library's Bio/Memoir Book Club meets in person Wednesday, July 22, to discuss "Solito" by Javier Zamora. The same day, the library hosts a virtual "Book Birthday Celebration" with authors Jeaniene Frost and Melissa Marr, giving readers a chance to hear from both writers online.

The library's Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026 also continues online this week, with sessions running July 22-23 and again July 23-24. Younger patrons have options too: a Garden Workshop for grades K-6 and children's programs including Baby Time and Sensory Safari are all on the library's calendar for Wednesday.

COMING UP

The library's midweek slate runs Wednesday, July 22, with the "Solito" book club discussion, the virtual author Book Birthday Celebration, Baby Time, Sensory Safari and the K-6 Garden Workshop, plus a virtual job-search seminar on avoiding "hidden risks" in a career transition. The Adult Summer Reading Challenge continues online through July 23-24.

On the municipal side, the Select Board meets virtually Thursday, July 23, alongside a Planning Board meeting held in hybrid format and an Upper Charles Trail Committee virtual session the same day. The School Committee holds its summer retreat Monday, July 27.
