Ashland Board of Health presses Cherry Blossom over repeat food-safety violations, adds $75 septic fee. Health Inspector Tom told the board a July 18 inspection found an employee straining crab meat into a mop bucket and raw chicken boxes reused for cooked food; owner Amy Harden said she docked a worker's pay and hired consultant Danny Lee to retrain staff, telling the board "I'm very sincere." The restaurant moves to more frequent, unannounced inspections rather than a fine. The board voted 5-0 to accept Katarina as a new part-time tobacco control inspector and 5-0 to add a $75 septic-abandonment inspection fee.
Health Director Raj reported two mosquito samples tested positive for West Nile virus, with roughly 2,500 catch basins treated townwide, and said a temporary state ban on kratom products begins August 28.
